Cyclone Amphan has Arrived, 185 Kmph Wind Speed, Lakhs of People in Danger

Weather forcast of today, Cyclone Amphan has Already arrived in West Bengal, Odisha with a Wind speed of nearly 185 kmph. This severe Cyclonic Storm Amphan is now with it's centre point about 87 miles east-northeast of Paradip, Odisha, 78 miles south-southeast of Digha, West Bengal and 171 miles west-southwest of Khepupara, Bangladesh. This storm Amphan is currently a strong tropical cyclone over Bay of Bengal and the first Super Cyclonic Strom since Odisha Cyclone of 1999. This strom is much more powerful than Fani and other Cyclone happened in Bay of Bengal.

But this storm will be weaken upon hitting the land areas so major impact of this storm is on Odisha and West Bengal coastal Areas. In this challenging situation Kolkata Airport has shut all operations till 5 am on Thrusday. In Kolkata it is causing Extremely heavy rainfall. In Kolkata the Wind speed is around 110 to 120 kmph, with gale force of 75 to 90 kmph.

After hititing West Bengal this storm is expected to shift towards Bangladesh, then will make little impact on Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya too. This storm Amphan is capable of damaging lots of areas in north coastal Districts of Odisha, West Midnapore, South and North 24 Paraganas, Hooghly, Howrah, Kolkata in West Bengal. Lakhs of people have evacuated from danger areas to safer locations. State Government took quick action to re shelter all people those are nearby coastal areas. Diasaster management teams are ready to fight against this Cyclone. Total 41 teams of NDRF have been deployed in West Bengal and 14 teams in Odisha to deal with any emergency situation according to NDRF chief SN Pradhan.
