Bollywood Star Sushant Singh Rajput commits suicide

In a shocking development, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide at his Bandra home in Mumbai. He was 34 years old. As per preliminary investigation he was found hanging at his Bandra residence, the recent medical reports found from his house indicates that he was going through clinical depression, and was under treatment over the past 6 months.

His demise comes as a shock to the industry, who are still reeling from the loss of irreplaceable gems of Hindi film industry in the past two months as Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer and Wajid Khan from the Sajid-Wajid duo died due to cardiac problems.

Sushant Singh Rajput had secured all-India 7th rank in AIEEE and finished his Mechanical Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering. He had also won the Physics Olympiad. He joined Shiamak Davar's dance classes and later joined Barry John's acting classes to become an actor.

Sushant made a name for himself on the small screen, especially with Pavitra Rishta, where he played the lead role, before jumping to the big screen. Sushant broke on to the big screen with Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che, based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling book The Three Mistakes of My Life.

Kai Po Che catapulted Sushant Singh Rajput, a smalltown boy, into almost overnight fame.

After 2013's Kai Po Che, Sushant worked in Shuddh Desi Romance with Parineeti Chopra, and then went on to do several films. He played the lead role in the movie Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, released in 2015, which earned him a lot of appreciation. But, the turning point in his carrier was playing the role of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in M S Dhoni: an untold story (2016), which was a superhit movie in all senses.

And even after that he delivered superhit movies like Kedarnath, and won hearts of million fans through his acting in his last film Chhichore (2019), a film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which dealt with college life and the frustrations of the later years.

In recent times this bright actor came into headlines a number of times regarding his relationship with his rumoured girlfriend, Kolkata based actress Rhea Chakroborty, and there was rumours about their probable engagement too.

Sushant’s ex-manager, Disha Salian had also committed suicide earlier this week. Disha had reportedly committed suicide by jumping off the 14th floor of her apartment in Malad on Monday night. Sushant had offered his condolences after her sad demise as well.

As per our findings, the actor maybe was going through depression for a long time that was not generally noted. In September 2016, around the release of his movie Dhoni:The Untold Story, the actor said in an interview, "I wish she( his late mother) was alive to see me succeed in life. I am sure she would have been really happy and proud of me. And maybe I would have been a different person than what I am now. The way I looked at things then and now, they are very different and I cannot go back to doing that. It's unfortunate. But everything that used to excite me, doesn't excite me that much now. I don't know why. No relationship, no success, absolutely nothing... If she was alive, probably it wouldn't concern her, but just because something has changed inside me, everything has become so insipid. It takes a lot out of me to force myself to get overly excited about things and probably this is the reason why I like acting so much. Because it helps me get away from myself."

Earlier this month, the actor had shared a post dedicated to his late mother on Instagram. Sushant had shared a black and white collage of his picture and that of his mother's on June 3 and wrote, "Blurred past evaporating from teardrops. Unending dreams carving an arc of smile. And a fleeting life, negotiating between the two..."

This once again reminds us that there is always a darkness that prevails under the light of stardom, which is not generally noted. And there is a heart that beats behind the camera, but unfortunately no one feel it.
